Mal wieder Unfertiges / Work in Progress again

Well, after having been away for a bit I'm back and able to show some of my present work. Since I did some tidying in my flat I didn't make quite the progress one had hoped for. Still there is a bit to show.

1. Rose Trellis Stole: This has made quite some progress. The pattern is the same throughout the entire stole, still it is fun, since there are easier rows and more challenging ones, so it keeps me interested. I just finished pattern repeat seven out of ten. At first I wasn't sure whether it would curl. It doesn't, it lies nice and flat and will be blocked nicely for sure.

The blue thing is a so called life line. This is a bit of waste yarn sowed through the stitches of a row. If I make a grave mistake I will be able to rip the thing to this row and pick up the stitches from the waste yarn. This delicate thing doesn't give me any chance of rip it and pick up the stitches freely. Superstitious as I am sometimes, I'm convinced I won't need the life-line if it is there.

I've thought of something special for the edging: There will be tiny tiny press studs the first fifty or so centimetres on both sides. So the wearer will be able to button this as a shrug if she wants to. I'm thrilled myself, how this will turn out.

2. Secondo Summer Sweater: I started this pattern of a German knitting magazine of 2005 last year and came back to it now, as it grew warmer. The yarn is slippery like hell. If you loose a stitch, you say "twentyone" and then pick it up at the bottom of the thing. Secondo is a mixture of cotton, silk and a bit of plastic. It knits like wire, just more slippery.

The colour in the picture is blue, however in reality it is more a beautiful cyan. The three patterns differ considerably in width, so the broadest part will be round the midriff. Since it hangs more like a coat of mail (very heavy) this doesn't matter too much. However, I fear it will grow in length considerably and may hang at my knees at some point.

I'm knitting short sleeves in the upper pattern, then this will be done. And I'll never ever again knit Secondo.

3. Tulip Sweater: This also looks blue and is cyan, darker and shinier than Secondo. That's Rowan Bamboo and will most probably be a sleeveless summer sweater. The yarn knits about as awfully as Lenpur Linnen. It's got about a gazillion strands and you always forget at least one, if not more.

Still the pattern is fun. You can't see too well on the picture, this will be little tulips. I like those flowers, so I had to do this pattern. I changed it insofar as there was a small cable right and left of the tulips, which I've replaced for the lacy thing.
