Nur mal kurz | Just shortly

Meine Hauptbeschäftigung ist grade St. Brigid. Weihnachten droht und das Ding muss fertig werden. Ich bin vorsichtig zuversichtlich, Rückenteil wird morgen fertig, Vorderteil sollte eigentlich zum Wochenende durch sein, dann noch ein bisschen aufputzen und gut ist. Ich muss vermutlich unten an den Pulli einen Zopf basteln, weils sonst ein bisschen kurz ist. Noch ein Mustersatz wäre nicht gut gegangen, denn es wäre sonst zu lang geworden. Naja, wir werden sehen, was wir sehen werden.

My main occupation at the moment is St. Brigid. Christmas is threatening to come nearer, so this will have to be finished on time. I'm cautiously optimistic, back part will be finished tomorrow, front part  should be done by the weekend, then a bit making pretty and through we are. I might have to add a cable at the lower part of the sweater, since it will be a bit on the short side. Another pattern repeat would have been too much, so this may be my solution. We shall see.

Ich habs grade mit diesen keltischen Zöpfen, nebenbei gebe ich mir auch noch Glimfeather, ein wunderschönes Tuch! Ist aber auch anstrengend, so drei über fünf Maschen ohne Zopfnadel ist schon - nun - ambitioniert. Ich habs aber nicht eilig, erstmal von St. Brigid befreit werde ich vermutlich erstaml keine Zöpfe mehr brauchen. Dennoch, ich mag das Teil sehr (und ich weiß natürlich, dass das Foto unscharf ist; ich bin ziemlich fehlsichtig, aber nicht so fehlsichtig; war 'ne Kombination von Nacht und schlechten Lichtverhältnissen).

I seem for the rest of this year to be landed with these celtic cables. Besides St. Brigid I'm at Glimfeather, a beautiful shawl. This is quite exhausting, three over five stitches without a cable needle is - well - ambitious. I'm not in a hurry, freed of St. Brigid I will be likely out of cabling for a while. Still, I like that thing (well, and I know of course that the picture is out of focus; I'm quite badsighted, but not that bad sighted; was a combination of night and bad light).

Das dritte Teil des heutigen Abends ist der derzeitige Stand vom Hillswick Lumber. Jaja, den gibt es auch noch. Ich habe den Körper soweit, dass ich jetzt den Ärmel anfangen kann. Das Teil wird ja nicht wie im Buch alles grade, sondern ich stricke einen Raglan dran. Ist schon ausgerechnet, ich muss nur noch die Ärmel soweit kriegen, dass ich Zilliarden von Maschen mit ungefähr 1000 Fäden zu einem hübschen oberen Teil verbasteln kann. Freue ich mich drauf, auch wenn das wieder fuddelig ist. St. Brigid hat Nadelstärke 2,5, Hillswick hat Nadelstärke 2,0. Manchmal hab ich schon Sorge, dass ich noch richtig im Kopf bin sehe.

The third project of the evening is the present state of Hillswick Lumber. Yes, it still exists in my life. I'm done with the body up to the sleeve, so I started those. I won't have it unshaped like in the book, but there will be a raglan in the round. Calculations are done, I just have to get the sleeves done, so I'll be able to combine gazilions of stitches to myriads of colours to a beautiful yoke. I'm looking forward to it, although it will also be quite fiddly. St. Brigid is in needle size 1.5, Hillswick is in needle size 0 (zero, in words). Sometimes I'm worrying I've lost my marbles eyesight.

Ähm, ja, und wir diskutieren jetzt einfach nicht, was für mich "kurz" ist, okay? Ich hab nicht sooo lange gebraucht, den Beitrag zu verfassen, das ist meine einzige Entschuldigung. Dass ich mich nicht kurz fassen kann, wissen die Menschen um mich rum schon länger. Aber ich glaube, ich stricke lieber noch ein paar Reihen St. Brigid, sonst rede ich mich hier um Kopf und Kragen zum Thema meiner Kommunikationsfähigkeit.Bis dieser Tage :-)

Well, and we won't discuss my idea of "shortly", okay? It didn't take me very long to write this post, that's my only excuse. People around me know for quite some time that I can't make it short. But I think it's best now to knit a row or two of St. Brigids instead of shooting myself in the foot by talking about my communication skills. See you these days :-)
